Anton Shekhovtsov is Director of the Centre for Democratic Integrity, Visiting Professor at the Department of International Relations at CEU (Austria), and Associated Researcher at the Research Center for the History of Transformations at the University of Vienna (Austria). His main area of expertise is the European far right, Russia’s political warfare in Europe, and illiberal trends in Central and Eastern Europe.
He is the author of the books New Radical Right-Wing Parties in European Democracies (in Russian language, 2011), Russia and the Western Far Right (2018), and Russian Political Warfare: Essays on Kremlin Propaganda in Europe and the Neighbourhood, 2020-2023 (2023), as well as co-editor of The Post-War Anglo-American Far Right (2014) and White Power Music (2012).
He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Fascism: Journal of Comparative Fascist Studies, and published academic articles in Journal of Democracy, Russian Politics and Law, Europe-Asia Studies, Nationalities Papers, Patterns of Prejudice, and Osteuropa, among others.
